Event Background & Collaboration Synergy 活動背景及協同作用:
【Collaboration Synergy】
This event is co-organized by us, Household Electronic Reborn (“HER”), and the Environmental Education Enhancement Fund (“EEEF”), with the aim of promoting environmental education and encouraging student participation, thereby enhancing their environmental knowledge and enabling its continued transmission. Since its establishment in 1970, Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School (“CSWCSS”) has been committed to nurturing well-rounded students with strong values and fostering environmental awareness. The school emphasizes holistic education and encourages students to actively participate in green and community activities, guiding them to become socially responsible citizens.

Outcomes of Students’ Visit to the Hong Kong Organic Waste Recycling Centre (“HKOWRC”) & HER Repair Centre at Room 12, Kam Chui Road, Kam Tsin Village, Sheung Shui, New Territories
1. Enhanced Environmental Awareness
Students not only learned about the processes of food waste recycling and the recycling and reuse of small household appliances in person, but also realized the importance of environmental protection. This experience inspired them to become environmental pioneers.
2. Practical Learning Experience
Through observation and explanations from the organizer, students witnessed the entire process of collecting, sorting, repairing, and distributing items. This allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge from textbooks to real-life situations, thereby deepening their understanding.
3. Volunteering and Community Service
During the visit, students served as HER volunteers, assisting in the preparation and delivery of more than 20 small household appliances to underprivileged families in Sham Shui Po. This gave them a sense of fulfilment from helping others, cultivating empathy and a spirit of teamwork.
4. Inspiration for Ongoing Participation
The activity encouraged students to participate more actively in environmental projects both inside and outside school, and to take the initiative in promoting green practices and resource recycling among their peers and families.
5. Personal Growth
Many students expressed that the activity increased their interest in promoting environmental protection and made them more willing to take on social responsibility, allowing them to personally experience the impact of environmental and community services.
