HER x Lutheran Church x EEEF for “Small Appliances Doctor Experience Day" on 15 Apr 2026
This event was hosted by HER, the Lutheran Church and EEEF, which was titled "Home Appliance Doctor Experience Day." It was conducted as a free clinic. Older siblings brought their faulty appliances to the clinic, where we diagnosed and repaired them immediately. Six out of eight appliances were repaired on the spot. The remaining two that couldn't be repaired were replaced with similar products from our inventory.

The “Small Appliances Doctor Experience Day” brought together HER, the Lutheran Church, and EEEF to turn a simple repair clinic into a live lesson in care, stewardship, and the circular economy. HER provided the technical backbone: its repair coaches diagnosed faults on the spot and successfully repaired six out of eight appliances, while safely replacing the remaining two with similar refurbished items from HER’s stock so that no family left empty‑handed. The Lutheran Church mobilised older siblings and families to bring in their faulty appliances, offered a welcoming venue, and linked the event to its ongoing pastoral and social‑service support for grassroots households. EEEF, with its focus on environmental education and circular initiatives, helped frame the clinic as a practical example of “repair instead of discard”, connecting the experience to wider messages about waste reduction and sustainable living.
Together, the three partners demonstrated how church‑based community networks, environmental education and hands‑on repair expertise can work in harmony: restoring essential appliances, easing financial pressure on families, and showing young people that “being a doctor for small appliances” is both fun and meaningful for the planet.
