On 4 & 21 July 2023, 復修號x HER交流團

The “復修號 x HER” exchange tour at the 復修號 workshop created a valuable space for two repair-driven teams to learn from each other and explore future collaboration. During the visit, 復修號 shared its experience in community repair, volunteer engagement and creating an inviting repair space. At the same time, HER introduced its approach to appliance repair training, redistribution to low-income families and running a social enterprise model. By walking through the workshop, comparing tools, safety procedures and teaching methods, both sides identified potential areas for co-developing training programmes, co-hosting public repair events, and sharing resources and stories.

For HER and 復修號, the tour was not just a site visit but also a chance to reflect together on how to make repair part of everyday life for more Hong Kong residents. For the wider community, it lays the groundwork for future cross-organisation initiatives that engage youth, reduce waste and scale up the culture of “repair, not discard”.
