HER x EEEF x HKLSS x ALBA collaborated on second-hand small home appliance return and reborn event for community on 2 August 2025

-EEEF leads in designing environmental education programs, mobilizing public participation, and raising sustainability awareness.

-HKLSS identifies community needs, engages elderly and vulnerable groups, and provides critical social service experience and channels.

-HER Group delivers hands-on repair workshops and technical knowledge, empowering residents and volunteers to develop green skills while reducing e-waste.

-ALBA ensures safe, compliant, and eco-friendly disposal or recycling of irreparable electronics, and supplies expertise for proper resource circulation.

Together, they:

-Enhance residents’ understanding of recycling, sustainable consumption, and waste reduction.

-Equip participants (including elders, youth, and families) with green, practical repair skills.

-Build stronger community networks and promote intergenerational cooperation.

-Donate refurbished appliances to families in need, supporting social inclusion.

Minimize environmental impact by reducing e-waste, resulting in greener living for all.

🌟【Event Highlights】🌟

1. Second-hand Appliance Collection and Redistribution:

Community residents brought used appliances for collection; after professional inspection and repair, these items were redistributed to those in need.

2. Repair and Safe Usage Sharing:

Knowledge on appliance repair and safe usage was shared, enhancing residents’ environmental awareness and overall quality of life.

3. WEEE Recycling Station:

A centralized collection point for “WEEE” (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) — including household appliances and computers — was set up to promote resource recycling and regeneration.

4. Community Organization Interaction:

Organizations such as the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service participated, strengthening community support and connection.

5. Interactive Game Booths:

Engaging game booths were provided, making the event more fun and attracting active participation from residents.
